Great research, thanks. Does really bring out the current much-ado over nothing on both sides. Pity these data aren't typically published widely.

Many thanks!

In my essay, I neglected to note how had come upon those CDC data. I had stumbled on a piece over at RealClearPolitics.com by (the always reliable, always adult) Debra Saunders. I've recovered it here: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2022/07/07/who_needs_montana_147851.html

Debra noted in passing that, "According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, some 2% of abortions performed in Florida in 2019 were performed after 15 weeks."

I had been wondering for some time about the distribution of abortions over time-since-conception. I had not thought to rummage around the CDC site. But, sure enough, it was easy to find this trove of annual "Abortion Surveillance" reports.

The quality of the reports varies over time, and the feature what government reports always feature: a narrowly-selected set of crosstabs. But, one could piece together some interesting, representative data.

I suspect that those data would enter the debate in Congress but have not. We might not have such extremes on both sides if people we more aware of the real data. The public is actually more tolerant of the awful decision but the money related to the Planned Parenthood grift is a motivation to the edges.
